To fly like a bird,
wild and free way up high.
Soaring over trees and hills,
climbing up,
climbing up to meet the clouds.
Gliding over rocks and mountains,
you feel free.

Engadin airport located in Samedan Switzerland is one of the highest airports in Europe with an elevation of 5,600 feet. From here, glider pilots launch into the skies to sail over the majestic alps. It’s interesting to note that when using launchers, the gliders accelerate from 0 to 62 miles (100 kilometers) per hour in three seconds. Enjoy the videos which highlight the great scenery of this area of the world.

Be sure to select higher video quality for your viewing enjoyment.

Here is another video with great scenery. I don’t care for the music, but you can always turn the volume down. Watch for the two lake jumps, very cool.

One more if you’d like more…watch for the low pass over the glacier.

Here is a view of the airport where this all starts and ends.
