On March 15, 2013, our sun had at M1-class solar flare near a sun spot about the size of our planet. The outcome was a large solar wind that reached Earth two days later on the 17th of March. This event produced some spectacular Aurora Borealis (also called Northern Lights) displays across the Northern skies. Below are three videos that captured the events from different locations.

The first video was a major production by Goran Strand that is comprised of over 2,400 raw images that were then compiled to a give a view of the whole sky. Enjoy!
