If you think you’re too old to take up a sport, think again. If you think you’re too old to break a world record, think again. Actually, if you think you’re too old in general for anything, think again. That’s what Fauja Singh did.

Unbelieveably, the world’s oldest marathon runner didn’t even start walking until he was 5 years old. Yep…you read that right! And even after he started walking at age five, his legs were thin and weak and unable to hold him up well for another 10 years!!

Fauja’s life story speaks of much personal tragedy, careful discipline, and even a strict, reduced calorie, simple vegetarian diet. He started running seriously at the age of 81 to help himself deal with several deaths in his family. And not until he was 89 did he actually start running competitively.

He became famous when at the age of 93, this five-foot, eight-inch man ran a full marathon and finished it 58 minutes earlier than anyone else in the 90+ age bracket had ever done.

How much medication does Fauja take to keep going? None.

Pretty impressive? Yep…we thought so.

And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.[/blockquote]
